Home Decor: Kerr Votive Lantern

Home Decor: Kerr Votive Lantern - as part of the home design series by GeoBeats. It is a slip cast, which means that we take a mold of the glass original Mason jar, do a thin cast of it in porcelain, so you get the impression of the lettering on the exterior of the vessel. These vessels look great lining the span of your table at a dinner party or outdoors during a picnic or family gathering in a tree or along your fence line. My original inspiration for designing this vessel was for my own wedding. I wanted to make something that was had a nostalgic quality to it and I also wanted something that would be a unique vessel for candles. My wedding was at dusk and we hung them in the tree above where we got married and they were all lit up like little lanterns, and it was beautiful.
