Homemade dog food recipes have become extremely popular since the pet food recall of 2007.
Hi, I am Chef Jason Hill and when my wife brought home this new puppy, Sugar. She suggest that we try some homemade dog food recipes.
Today we are preparing a vet approved pre-tested recipe from natural pet food cookbook by Wendy Nan Rees. To prepare this recipe, I first preheated my oven to 350 degrees and now I am going to spray a casserole dish with some cooking spray. I have a large bowl and I am going to add the ingredients. I have one pound of cooked, drained, ground beef, one cup of Monterey Jack cheese, one 16 ounce can of sliced carrots, one eight ounce can of corn, one tablespoon of wheat germ, half teaspoon of Brewer's yeast, and 8 ounce can of condensed tomato soup.
Okay, now I am just going to add it to the casserole dish and top with a quarter cup of Parmesan cheese. Now I am going to place it in the oven for approximately 25 minutes or until you insert a knife in the center and the knife comes out clean.
It's going to be about 30 minutes, I am going to check it with a knife. Yeah, it came out fairly clean. I am going to remove from the oven and let it cool and then serve.
If you are looking for more homemade dog food recipes for your pet, then check out this cookbook. Now let's go and see, if Sugar likes it. Thanks for tuning in. Can't believe I just ate dog food, not bad.
