Hong Kong is an amazing confluence of east and west, ancient and modern. What I love about Hong Kong is the vibrant colors and festive atmosphere. It’s so much part of a life here. Each season brings a reason to celebrate with the festival or parade.
With almost seven million residents, Hong Kong is a bustling metropolis. It is one of the finest capitals of the world and it’s known throughout Asia as a center for high fashion and fabulous shopping.
Here in Hong Kong, everyone loves to eat. Eating and cooking is such an integral part of daily life. That every where we went, it is always fun to try something new.
The chefs in Hong Kong are true artists who make the food not only delicious, but beautiful as well, from these bird shape dumplings, to beautiful steaming platters of lobsters. The presentations were so impressive and clever.
Like these steaming baskets of Dim Sum made with dough, shaped and colored to look like baby lettuce.
Going into the kitchens; it is exciting to see a whole line of cooks with wax in hand.
This cook is frying a whole chicken. I always wondered how they’ve got the skin so crispy. The secret is to ladle the oil over the skin.
My mother is great at preparing seafood. And I think that comes from having spent so many years here.
