Derrick Schommer: Welcome to the Sunday and a tutor’s edition of Common Man Cocktails. I’m you host Derrick Schommer, and today were going to do something cool because we’re playing with fire. We’re going to put in this is going to be called by the way The Hot Apple Pie. It’s going to have of course have of course you cant have sour pie without at least in sour Pucker and the hot part is Fire Water is that’s awesome if your into Fire Water. Hot Cinnamon Schnapps Liqueur. I called it like if you ever had a Fireball candy that’s it. You know the difference is this is a 100 proof Fireball candy so 50% alcohol can hurt you and it can lie on fire. That’s all is nice to have things on my own fire because we’re playing with fire. And we’re going to also layer the drinks so; we’ve got The Push Cocktail Style Layer Shot fire into ingredients.
And the way we’re going to do this today is I don’t really have a measuring device up here but I really know what I need to do. It’s going to be three quarters full of Apple Pucker and at layers first, spill a little because that’s how we role here on the show. And your probably wondering what is this plate over here I was just kidding. No, this has little –I just stir a little cinnamon on here and the reason is cinnamon in fire make sparks. And part of this little concoction here is going to be fire with cinnamon sprinkle on top to create this like Haley’s comet side effect or like not Haley’s factor like more not comet but just meteors, meteorites. So, that’s adds a little extra flavor to it so, were just layer the sucker up right now and see it goes.
And I should do, now technically the recipe says, I really don’t want like this. That’s awesome; I used to drink it straight so what we have here I will used my zoom in. I couldn’t make in a little fine rice I like this better earlier when I did this test. I had created that was super fine line because I didn’t pour it with the bottle. But you get a nice various of almost saddle and it’s sees that’s hot with the fire wire which is what I did you can make it thinner or more depending on how much you like fire water I just happen to like it so, will just stick with that now, this should be interesting.
I’d like to lift with open show you but I’m not also stupid so what you can see is the whole light. Can you see it? It’s hard to see but see, yeah there is a blue hue you really can’t see it too well but what you can do is then you can sprinkle some of this on here and you maybe see the little fire which is a little sparks flying up. This is part of the cool effect that you get and then you blow it out and if you don’t know you can these little flakes of cinnamon inside now. If you don’t know why you blow it out you just go on youtube and search for Shot Fire still hot. Shot with fire and you see a people like themselves on fire it’s you don’t screw around and this people freak out.
It’s always funny when is not you so in everybody in the room is laughing at the person who’s faces on fire on the table. Because the first thing you do is when you lye to shot on fire you drink it and you realize it’s not go out is your throwing. And when you throw things that are on fire and continue to burn, they burn everything in front of you. Lesson that I haven’t done but you too, teaches you a lot of cool things. So, let’s try the hot apple pie, just don’t want like really burn myself.
Wow, strongest drink that I had thus far on the show. This is a party drink and not many of them. I wouldn’t se down and do this before dinner or after hope for more and this is the really hard day. And the taste is robust the purple robotizing like the purple one that medicine, it taste like medicine. It doesn’t taste too much apple pie in my personal opinion the action. The aftertaste is very apple pie but the initial attack was definite like you just had cold, you took some robust that has artificial taste to it. Maybe a little apple maybe a little cinnamon then this is what they use. I don’t know because there is alcohol like robotusin. This will look about if you need if you have a hard to sleeping.
Overall neat drink definitely more on the side of show a little showcase action here.
