I am Steve Turano. Welcome to this episode of Body Performance. Here is an important concept that you have to understand and you may have even said this too. I hear this, “You know Steve, I have a bowl of ice cream, once in a while but not that often or I go to the movies once a month and I have typically have liquors but again that is only once a month. And people say this a lot “I usually do this, I do that, I eat this, I eat that, but it is not that often, it is very frequently”. But here is the problem, if you don’t burn off those calories from that ice cream, the liquors, the pop corn, the few drinks, the desserts, your body is saving those 500 calories, the 300 calories, the 200 calories, the 700 calories, and it is waiting. It is waiting to add those 500 calories to the 200 calories to make 700. Then into those 700, it is going to add the other 500 to make 1200. So pretty soon all those calories from all those meals you never ever have that often add up to a pound and then that pound turns into two pounds and turns into four pounds and so on and so forth. So what you have to understand it those calories they have eaten are sitting around waiting to be added to be added to other calories and they accumulate and sit around and wait to be added into other calories and pretty soon, 3500 calories add up and you will have a pound of fat on you. So the trick is if you are going to have a piece of cake, a drink, some ice cream or whatever. You have got to take that into consideration, either add that to your total daily calorie intake, which is then no big deal or you need to do a little extra throughout the day or throughout the week that follows to get rid of those calories so they don’t accumulate and add up to pounds. Love your body.
