Dr. Ross Bermner: You know for a lung transplant program to be approved by the Federal government that lung transplant program has to go through a very rigorous process. You can pretty much be assured that any of your surgeons that are doing lung transplant are highly qualified people. But like I tell all of my patients the best thing to do is to meet your surgeon, meet your pulmonologist and your transplant team and make sure that you feel comfortable with them. This is a team effort on behalf of the healthcare professionals as well as on behalf of the patient.
