Changing the Jewish Law. The Orthodox basically, suggest that the Law of the Thorax can never be change and being a conservative grab by conservative Jew, I tend to agreed that the laws critical and important that we live as Jew in a legal system. But at the same time recognized that Judaism and Jewish Law have been much more fluid in the Orthodox suggest. We believe that one of the great challenges in modern times is that even though that was wonderful to have a court of Jewish Law developed middle-ages that still observed. The problem today is that if it is written down then it cannot be change.
I want to show you some examples of even in the total it self in other development where Jewish Law is always change. One example is the story I referred to one another video from the Book of Numbers called the daughter of Zelophehad, Where the girls complained to Moses that the total law as not fear of them, and to their situation because they no brothers. Why should this because he has only girls they got not nothing of inheritance and Moses does not know what to say in terms over the guy and Gods says that the Daughter of Law part are correct so changes the law right there.
And then he do the run on me it says if the laws to complicated for you go to judges in your generation and tell you what to do with it. So clearly there is notion on its generation the judges have to determine all the Law of Goals. And from there I interrupt you as a history there are examples of how the law is developed and modified in changes base on the circumstances. In much the way American Lawyer even though we have a constitution or we have a judicial system and Legislature and they continue to figure out how to apply the law.
The complicating fact after Judaism is that we believe the law or originates with the God and so you got to be very careful before you change what you think was God will. And that is really what the whole process of study and careful reflection underlying on the authorities of the ages determine how to apply Bill law the situation. And sometimes new thing come up with change make changes necessary. And this is where the Orthodox in a conservative reanimate is agreeing on issues of what should be changes. We agree that the law has to be change carefully but sometimes we think base certain consideration should be change for example. There is a rule that a coin cannot marry a divorcee or a widow or a convert.
Now, we understand that originally that the total ideal was that the divorcee were consider to be bad women and convert were consider to come from the pig of he world but today there was a ridiculous ideas. We were jack completely and so why continue that provision especially for position that it does not have any significant ritual rule today the calling.
Those are just the coupe of the significant changes that the conservative reverent that has made. Because we understand that the law has to be change when circumstances behind it are no longer the same and are indeed the same on Africa.
