Audra Lowe: Well how many times have you come home from the store and found that you were charged full price for an item that you thought you bought on sale. Jeanette Pavini shares how keeping track of those receipts and your bills can actually help keep your budgets in check it’s all in today’s better ways to save.
Jeanette Pavini: So snobby shoppers know it’s not enough to assume you're saving money. you need to follow through and read receipts and bills to make sure you're getting the discount and awards you deserve and that you're not being charged extra fees.
The first price saver stay alert is that checkout scanner with 40,000 plus items on store shelves and a constantly rotated series of promotions and special offers there are mistakes made on 2% of scans. The FTC says that costs consumers more than but if it is $2.5 billion in savings every year.
Now to make sure you don’t lose out on savings try to keep an eye on the scanner as the clerk is swinging at your items, know the policy on the stakes. Sometimes you’ll get a discount if the item is incorrectly scanned. Read your coupons carefully, make sure they're good are the store where you're shopping and check your bills from late fees and know when you’ve made payments on time.
If you pay a credit card bill online, make sure the payment would be made by the date the bill is due. Sometimes the payment won't clear until after the due date. If you're charged a late fee and you know you paid the bill on time, make sure you call the company immediately to get the charges reversed.
