How GPS Devices Save Time and Money
Chris Hanson: GPS navigation devices in cars are cool and high-tech but can they
actually save you money as well? A new research study from
Digital Map Data and Content provider NAVTEQ, says yes.
Male1: We found in a recent NAVTEQ study, the drivers who use
navigation on a regular basis consume 12 percent less fuel than
drivers who do not use navigation. If you added up the gallons of
fuel saved, the average driver would save $200.00 per year.
Chris Hanson: Using in vehicle navigation systems can not only save your money
but also time.
Female1: Connecting to On star.
Female2: Can I have directions to the nearest Macy’s.
Chris Hanson: On Star says that major retail stores, coffee shops and restaurants
are among the most requested points of interest.
Female1: You are arriving at your destination.
Female3: Our tune by turn navigation has over 13 million points of interests.
So during the holiday season, our live advisers can help you get to
your local WalMart or if you need to stop and get a bite to eat or
cup of coffee to refresh yourself before you go hit the big shopping
center. And you don’t have to pull over to enter any destinations.
Just push your blue button. Tell the adviser where you want to go.
Chris Hanson: And for black Friday, the biggest shopping day of the year, the day
after Thanksgiving. On Star is there to help by allowing all
subscribers to use turn by turn navigation at no additional charge.
I’m Christ Hanson.
