We have a Gundy quote magnet on our fridge and it says give a change you wish to see in the world. I move Gundy so I can take his philosophy’s and apply to it to my own life so I just decided you know, “Hey, I am going to stop complaining about the fact that nobody changed us and be the change. Do it myself and create it, I try and respect everything in life and right now, what we are doing to the environment is so disrespectful, even as a young child I was interested in saving the earth and saving whales and you know, I would knock on my neighbors doors and tell them to you know not use so many plastic bags and they do like, “Okay, great go away.”
I went this subsequently and I majored in sociology and conservation resource studies. I spent a lot of my free time researching but I bought what products were good for the earth. Like if then my house worth that I can fill my closet with and I just got frustrated and decided that I was going to make my own resource, do it myself and create a company where you could be responsible consumer but still be excited about like you are buying.
This has vegetable based dyes, this is bamboo and a print on here is water base, so no petroleum being used on this one, a great design. I really build it up piece by piece, wrote up my business plan and save up the money. I consider my year off making zero money and working my better off at business school. I did not have a lot of money to spend on advertising and people would call me up and say, “Oh, you hurry up, there is a great opportunity for you,” you know a quarter of a page in our magazine is only $5,000.00 and I would be kind of like, I do not know if $5,000.00 01:48 for myself
So I really just, I had to do a lot of gorilla marketing calling newspapers, calling everybody I knew that had anything to do with media and saying, “This is cool, this is what I am doing, check it out.”
I started writing a blog, I started offering my services as an equal fashion expert and I started marketing myself like crazy. Instead of paying $5,000.00 for the quarter of the job(ph) in the magazine, I am hitting the pavement and taking you know, $5.00 out of my day and making myself, PTC elements. The reason I am passionate about the environment is that I care about what happens to teacher, an organic cotton pair of designer of jeans is a whole stick way that you can help the environment to doubt in all communities that we need to respect and certainly taken care of is about farmers that are working in those fields and getting carcinogenic pesticides, rain down on them.
Basically, as they are picking on them is it is about their children, it is about paying people fair wage for what they do and self doubt is starting your own businesses, just it need at you and you have to just think about it and accept it and be mindful that you can get thousand out starting your own business and I know this can be scary but if you believe in what you are doing then, it is going to be successful.
I am proud of myself that I have really been through to what I believe in but if also pay to life with I am doing now.
