So, I have got so caught up with in the installation of sprinklers that I have not early done any videos on, “how to use your sprinklers”, so one of the questions I got just a couple of weeks ago was, “how long should I meet my sprinklers on for?” and “how many times in a week should I water in that sort of things?”
So, look into it and what you are looking for is about an inch to an inch and a quarter of water per week for a healthy lawn. And how that breaks down, is with your spray lines, you want to do about twice a week, if this is with no rain. When rain comes in, you have to pack that in, but with the spray line you want to do about 20 minutes, 2 times per week because they put all about 1.2 inches per hour. So you want to do about like I say 20 minutes 2 times a week for your spray lines.
For your roller lines, there are a little bit of a slower soak into the water. They actually, only put out 4/10 of an inch per hour. So you want to leave your roller lines on for about an hour twice a week. And once you get into your micro sprays and you drip your irrigation for your flowers, it all depends on the weather. If it is hot, you probably want to do about 30 to 40 minutes at least once a day if it is like say 30 or 40 degrees outside. If it is late in the season, early in the season, you can cut that back a bit but those micro sprays are clear at about 7/10 of an inch per hour so, you are looking at about, you probably want to do about 30 to 40 minutes every day with that.
So, that is basically a rule of thumb for how much you want to water your lawn.
