Kay Williams: Hello! My name is Kay Williams. I am an event planner. My company is Weddings by Kay. We specialized in event planning. And we’re going to get into talking about reception. What happens in reception hall? What happens in the whole chaotic day? What happens to get this thing wonderful, make it become great? And what was going to discuss today is the detail, the floral arrangement, what color? For the floral, we’re going to use a bar in the air, can we have—do we have to use—what kind of lighting shall we use? How many guests could fit in there? Do we have enough room for our guests? Okay, we have the ushers that actually assist guests properly and that’s a key thing. What happens in reception? What can we do to make this reception great and memorable?
Host: How long should my reception be?
Kay Williams: When you are thinking about a reception you also think about the time. The time depends on your ceremony as well, so you have to go back to the wedding ceremony. If your wedding is going to be in the evening, let’s say the ceremony is like four o’clock okay, you have to know with that reception venue, what time is the latest I can have my guests there? Keep in mind the clean up time as well, the latest hours your cleaning time. So, you have to know when your wedding is going to start exactly. You’re going to have to be on time so let’s say, your wedding is from 4 to 6, can you have the hall from 6 all up until midnight or three o’clock. You have to know the time. That’s the key thing about it.
