Welcome to this episode the body performance. I am Steve Turano. A common workout questions is how my many reps should I do and how much should weight should I use? Should I use a lighter weight and do lot of reps or should use a heavy weight and do few reps. Let me see, if I can show this lighter on this. The muscles is change because of the intensity of the contractions not the number of contractions, for instance walking, which is a lot of reps, it is a great aerobic exercise, but is not intense enough to make your legs firm and when ever end block heart it just not that hard. The contractions at the curve when walk are not that intense.
So, when you working out, we want intense muscular contractions and intense muscular contractions come from using heavier weight, so how many reps should you do with this heavier weight, hard to say. My work out is varying from 6 to 8 to 10 reps, I usually do not like when it is over 10 reps and this does not matter you are man or a woman you still need to use a certain amount of weight to make your workouts hard that is why it called a workout. This hard workout will firm up the muscle and give you a better strength, so my suggestions is take a look at the weight are you using you might want to increase the weight your using you might want to increase the weight 10%, 15% or even 20% and then lower the reps as your strength increases in your reps build up then you increase the weight again but greater amounts of weight will give you a greater results in the gym.
