I am Steve Turano. Welcome to set up for body performance. Received a question from a young man who said “Steve, I am doing cardio for 60 minutes, it is killing me, because I end up trailing off the end, I just do not have the energy. Would it be okay for me to do cardio 4 times a day, 15 minutes each time?” And the answer is yes. Remember, cardio is not just about getting your heart rate up, cardio is about movement, and movement burns calories. So if you are moving throughout the day, you will burn calories. Now, what the better things that breaking up cardio a day is, if you do it for 60 minutes, you begin to trail off, not bad, you are still burning calories, but you are not really helping your cardiovascular system. If you can do it 4 times a day, or 2 or 3 times a day, but you can do it for a shorter period with much greater intensity, number 1, you can improve your cardiovascular ability, and number 2, you burn more calories because you are exercising at a faster pace and number 3, this will get you in shape much faster. So if you want a very good cardio throughout the day, do not worry about it the trick is, just get it in. Love your body.
