How Much Coffee is Safe to Consume

Paul: My name is Paul, I'm from North Carolina. I am 20 years old. I drink probably 5 or 6 cups of coffee a day and I wanted to know if long-term heavy consumption of coffee has any negative side effects.

Wahida Karmally: Paul, we don't know the long-term effects of drinking such large amount of coffee. Coffee as you know gives you lot of caffeine but the important thing is to remember what we know is moderation is okay. So if you having about three cups of coffee that will be fine and may be you can sort of have fewer cups of coffee and have more of the drinks that will give you more nutrients like calcium and protein and vitamin D, the skimmed milk would be a great choice.
