eh... aside from the math being off... where did he get the idea you can only put on 1 lb of muscle a week? lets say hes right (which he's not)... 1 lb of muscle is 100 grams of protein (according to him) but your body is not perfect at digestion, many of the grams of protein you eat are not absorbed. this is why when you eat 3 lbs of food, you don't gain 3 lbs of weight. you should flood your body with protein, at least 2 grams per lb of body weight a day, to make heavy muscle gains.

I am Steve Turano. Welcome to this episode of Body Performance. I have been receiving this question a lot. Steve, how much muscle can I put on and how quickly can I expect to put it on? Well this is pretty simple. The human can only make 1 pound of muscle in a week at 7 days. So, we are talking without a gym, he tells you he put on 10 pounds a week. The most muscle that he put on in that week is 1 pound the other 9 pounds are either fat or water. When you see this articles of body building magazines and these guys are like comic book heroes do not believe anything in this articles. Theses guys have wore drugs in them than Wall Reeds pharmacist. No matter what you do you can only put on about 1 pound of muscle a week.
Now, 1 pound of muscle is about 100 grams. So, in order to put on that large extra pound of muscles a week. How much protein do you think you need to eat above and beyond what you normally take in, 500 grams, because that who you trying to build. You are trying build 1 pound of muscle. It contains 100 grams of protein so you need to consume an additional 100 grams per kilo week. Diet at 7 days that is only 15 additional grams of protein a day, so, you can only put 1 pound of muscle on a week regards of who you are and to do that you need to eat about 15 grams additional protein each day.
