Host: What does it means to not sweat the small stuff?
Ria Moore Benedict: Well, it means just that I mean pretty much every thing is small when you think about it. The question that I always asked myself, I ask other people when an issue arises is whether or not someone is going to get hurt, if the answer is no, then it really is something small that doesn’t have any meaning or hold on your life and you shouldn’t allow it to have any meaning or hold on your life.
There are two techniques that I use that you can incorporate it to your life that are helpful for this. The first one is doing some deep breathing exercises so as soon as you feel your self starting to become anxious or a reason for angry with someone, take a few moments, close your eyes and just take a few deep breaths and you will find that you will feel a little bit more calm about the situation and then figure out what you can do to address the situation in a more positive manner.
The second thing that can you do, when it s really, really tough and really don t like that person which can happens sometimes is you can close your eyes, take your right hand, rub your stomach and say I Love You while you are picturing that person in your mind. You may not feel like you really love that person at the moment but it will help you to feel better about it and you are doing really something good for you.
