One of my best ideas is to promote health by nourishing with herbs.
One of my favorite herbs to use as a nurture is Oatstraw. In the Ayurvedic tradition of India, Oatstraw is considered the herb of immortality and it's said that if you drink Oatstraw on a regular basis then you will live forever. I am not sure, how regular that is or when you needed to start it, probably we wouldn't want to live forever.
This is one ounce of Oatstraw by weight. I've weighted out on the scale and I am pouring this one ounce of Oatstraw into my quart can jar. Then I am going to add boiling water in my canning jar to make my Oatstraw infusion. It's really very easy. All you need to do is to be able to weigh out your herb and to boil water.
I am going to fill that jar right up to the top with the boiling water and then put a nice tight lid on it, that will sit for 4 hours. As it infuses the minerals in the Oatstraw. It's loaded with calcium, magnesium, manganese, phosphorus, potassium, zinc, silica, all of the minerals we need to make really strong healthy bones. Those minerals are going to come into solution in the water.
Here is an Oatstraw infusion that I made a little earlier and you can see that as it brews the Oatstraw begins to fall down to the bottom of the jar and the color of the liquid becomes stronger, this indicates the minerals in it.
Oatstraw is also an excellent source of phytoestrogens, and these are phytoestrogens that don't do anything other than kilter cancers and promote health. They are not problematic phytoestrogens. There are herbs that have some problematic phytoestrogens.
Oatstraw is also very rich in protein, and protein of course is going to make your skin clear and beautiful. Your hair strong and healthy and your finger nails really good. I have saved the best for last though.
Oatstraw is considered the herb of sexual potency and sexual interest.
In Switzerland, Oatstraw is actually sold as a sexual tonic or an herbal alternative to viagra. Whatever you are using Oatstraw for, whether it's to make your heart healthy, your blood vessels healthy, or everything flows smoothly, Oatstraw infusion one of my favorite herbs.
This is Susun Weed, wishing you Green Blessings!
