AJ: Well, when I talk about 1080 peer in hdc now in your home, most people automatically think of flat panel televisions. Well today we’re gonna talk about the crossover between projectors and what normally it’s thought in terms of a business environment, and how that’s coming in to the home environment. We’re taking a look at the Epson projector, this is their 1080 P-Cinema version power light, essentially this is a full HD Digital signal in your house, they gives you that resolution and has the right output so you can take advantage that HD content. But that being said, there’s still an excellent purpose for this, in terms of business. As you can see here up on the screen, I’ve got a power point presentation, we’re taking advantage of the bright screen, and we’re taking advantage of the twelve thousand lumens that are built into this. Twelve thousand of one contrast ratio, this is all inside the unit, makes it incredible for a business application. But, there’s an entire another application here which is HD Content, and Lindsey’s got an example message for us to show us exactly what that is.
Lindsey: Check it out, right now; this is an HD Image which makes the picture a lot crisper. The projector that we’re looking at right now has an auto focus iris, which is essentially adjusted to the brightness of the room. Right now, we’re using it to a business setting for presentation. This will allow you to put your best foot forward when you’re dealing with clients. But you can also take it home; use it for televisions and DVD’s. I’m coming right back at you AJ and standard definitions. Hi Aj.
AJ: Didn’t take a long to get back to standard def?
Lindsey: Nope, pop right out of the HD to join you here.
AJ: So, one of things that you mentioned was that, if you do use this in your home environment, there’s a number of different connections that can allow you to sort of get the best quality of picture.
Lindsey: Yeah, this Epson comes from seven different connections, basically will allow you to connect to your computer, your DVD player, or a digital cable box.
AJ: And if you’re using one of the new HD, like the HD digital box, or blue ray player for example, they come more and more into the market. HDMI which is gonna carry that high, high end signal all the way through the projector.
Lindsey: Yeah, and one of the other things that does have is, it has the lens shift here, which is a neat quality there, I don’t know, I’ll let you play with it.
AJ: Yeah, I like that, one of things I like about it because essentially when you do get it into your environment specially when you move it around, what is that fine tuning when you need to do, and lens shifting actually allows you to move the lens to the left and to the right, up and down. Allowing you to certainly maximize the screen that you’re gonna get on top of there. One of the things I didn’t like about the unit, or should say two of the things I didn’t like was one, the fan, the fan noise, basically, if you’re gonna watch HD movies, you don’t want, you want this thing to be silent, especially when you’re in audio fan like myself. If the unit’s place between you and the wall where it’s projecting, you’re gonna pick up that fan noise and that can be really annoying. The another thing is, they used a lot of plastic here, I think that they could probably try to make the unit a lot little bit smaller so that you can sort of fit it more to your environment whether it be business or at home, but I would say that for the price point, it’s very, very aggressive and it competes well. I probably take a look at Panasonic and maybe a couple of any other manufacturer for HD. But I think that Epson is a good one.
Lindsey: And I think one thing to note to, is you can mount it on top of, from the ceiling, and it’s comes with a remote. So if you find that it’s a little bit noisy, you can put it on the other way or put it a little bit behind you there and you still got the quality.
AJ: Absolutely.
Male: If you thought that, that was cool then you should also check out this.
