Raena Morgan: Max, there was a cancer trial done in 1996, talking about Selenium and Vitamin E. Could you tell us more about that?
Mr. Max Motyka: Oh, sure! You know, Selenium and Vitamin E both are going to be involved in the antioxidant detoxification system within the body. The study basically showed that by the synergistic effect of these two antioxidants, they're able to help fight against cancers, if you will. We don't talk about necessarily trying to treat cancer. But certainly we know and there has been, by the way, over the last two, three years, so many studies on the positive effect of Selenium in helping prevent certain cancers.
Raena Morgan: Like prostate cancer?
Mr. Max Motyka: Absolutely. It's amazing, the degree of success they've had in using Selenium to help prevent prostate cancer. In this book, by Dr. DiSilvestro --
Raena Morgan: the Handbook of Minerals as Nutritional Supplements, okay.
Mr. Max Motyka: Right. In this book, he goes through and reviews all the valid clinical studies on minerals and when he talked about Selenium and cancers, what he said they have found is quite possibly what Selenium does is varying by system, like prostate, ovarian, wherever. It actually will, in that area, increase the glutathione peroxidase level specifically in certain tissue areas to higher degree, which is probably why it would be more effective in certain ones, certain cancers I'm saying.
Raena Morgan: Well, that's very positive.
Mr. Max Motyka: Right.
Raena Morgan: And very encouraging.
Mr. Max Motyka: Yes, it is.
Raena Morgan: Okay. Thank you very much.
