How Social Networking Sites Correlate to GPA

This is Insider Medicine in 60 from Ohio. According to research from Ohio State University, students who use a social networking site like Facebook have a lower grade point average. In a study of 219 students, researchers found that the GPA of Facebook users were in the range of 3 to 3 and a half compared to 3 and a half to 4 among 9 users. The study points out that this is a correlation and not necessarily a matter of cause and effect. From the UK, according to research in the journal of nutrition, a localized semic index practice can enhance the effects of moderate exercise. In a study of 8 sedentary women, researchers found that those who ate a localized semic index practice had an increase in fat oxidation during a 60 minute walk compared to those who ate high class semic index foods. LGI foods includes cereals made from oats, barley and bran. And finally from Boston, according to a study in New England Journal of Medicine, scientists have found gene variants that affect stroke risk. In a large genomide association study, researchers found that having one copy of either variant resulted in a 30 percent increased risk of stroke while for their as necessary, this sort of discovery may lead to personalized care based on an individual’s genetic makeup.
