Hey YouTube, it’s TechSupportGoneBad. And today, I’m going to be showing you guys how to do one of my most commonly asked questions. So, a lot of people have visited the advertising section of my website techsupportgonebad.com and they’ve notices this little Buy Now button. So, a lot of people have been asking me how do you add a Buy Now button to your website or how do you add a Donate button, how to add to Carp button, it’s all of the same procedure. You go through the same thing for all one except you just do one little thing different. So, that’s what I’m going to be showing you guys how to do today.
The procedure is very simple. It doesn’t take much at all. It will take a couple of minutes at most. But the main thing that you’re going to need to make this all work is a thing called PayPal. Now, for those of you who aren’t familiar with PayPal or it’s actually paypal.com, well paypal.com is it’s an online money transaction thing so you link your PayPal account to your bank account or to a credit card and it will take care of all your online payment. So, let’s say you want to buy something from ebay.com, you could just pay with PayPal and that way, the person that’s stealing you doesn’t have to see your credit card information or a bank account information. PayPal will pay for you and then PayPal will take the money out of your bank account and pay themselves back. So, PayPal is really getting the money and PayPal is a 100% safe so you don’t have to worry about anything. So, it’s mostly used for money transactions online. So, that’s what you’re going to be needing.
So, you need a PapPal account and once you have it, you want to sign in and click on the Merchant Services tab. Once you're there, this Merchant Services is just a great thing for people that are selling stuff online. You could do a lot of stuff. You can manage payments, you could shipping and taxing—you could manage your shipping and taxing, create buttons and just all about kinds of stuff so, it’s just—right here is meant for meant for people that are selling stuff online. So, we’re looking to create a button here so you want to look under the Create buttons little section and you want to create your own button that you want. From now on, I can’t really tell you guys what you do since you’re doing your own thing, I'm doing my own thing but I’m just going to click Buy Now. It’s all the same procedure for the most part except you just—the button looks different.
So, once you click Buy Now, you want to click Accept payments for whatever, I’m going to do services and just click No, just create a Buy Now button and item name, I'm going to name it advertising on techsupportgonebad.com. The price, either you could enter a price or you could add a drop down menu with prices and options so let’s say you have multiple prices, you could do that. In this case, I do so I’m just going to click Add drop down menu. And I’m going to name the drop down menu options. Menu option name, let’s do small add just making this up as—medium add, larger add. And the price, I’ll do $5.00 and make sure to create—do the currency. In this case is USD for me. Medium add, I’ll do $10.00 and large add, I’ll do $20.00. I’m making all these prices up as I go. By the way, if you want to know the actual prices they charge for advertising, just go to techsupportgonebad.com/advertising.html. The link to it will be in the video description so you don’t have to type all that out.
And I’m just going to press Done. And there we have it, we have a little option thing and just click and then you could choose whichever one you want. And shipping, there’s no shipping for this one and the tax rate, I'm just going to leave that blank and I'm going to do secure Merchant account ID. Go to step two. Track inventory profit and loss. This is optional so I'm not going to mess with that. Step three, customize advanced feature is also optional so for now I’m not going to mess with that, but you could do all that if you want. And then I'm just going to press Create button.
Once I do that, it’s going to give you a little HTML, I think it’s embed code but I'm not sure, it’s probably HTML code. And you just want to copy the code and go to your website. Just click wherever you want to put the code and switch to your code view of the website and then just paste the code right there. And it should end up looking something like this, little thing right here. And once you go ahead and preview your website, give me a second here, once you go out and preview your website, your button should show up. If it doesn’t give PayPal sometime to generate your button, get everything working and then it should show up in a while. And that’s pretty much it. Very simple, just copy the code, paste it wherever you want and there’s even a simple tutorial for you so I'm not sure what this is but this is the tutorial so you could probably click on that and it’ll teach you how to do this whole thing in life in detail. But this is pretty much it, it’s not really that hard. You just need to know your way around—and just click couple of buttons, paste it in there and there you have it. And you could create more buttons and yeah you could just use your imagination. There’s a bunch of stuff you could do at Merchant Services. It’s just for people who want to sell stuff online.
So, that is very simple, very easy thing to do and it just, it adds to the professionalism of your website—professionalism but anyways, that’s not the point. I hope you guys enjoyed this tutorial.
