Lorraine Hooper: Hi! I’m Lola from Lola Cookies and Treats and we’re ready to put the
topping on our peppermint bark. We have our two pans, our jelly roll pans
with the bark already bake, and I just took this out of the hot and very hot
right. You see after the bake the top will of the dough not shiny anymore
and they’ve look a little bit like brownies, like flatter brownies. Now, right
now while they’re still out we’re going to take our three cups of chocolate
chips and sprinkle them all over both trays. Making two trays of the exact
same stuffs its just fills of two pans, chocolate on chocolate my favorite.
Okay the heat from the base is going to melt the chocolate if we give it
five minutes. So, I am going to leave those rights there and set the time
after five minutes and then will be ready to spread out the chocolate which
will at that point be all nice and melt it for us.
Okay, our time were just went off and that’s means it’s been five minutes
and we’re ready to spread the chocolate on here. I really consider this to
be the fun part of making peppermint bark, take a nice soft especially for
this and just very lightly drag that chocolate around and spread it. This
chocolate is going to be anchoring the candy canes onto the bark. So, any
spots that don’t have chocolate are not going to have candy canes either.
Its okay for it not to be completely 100% covered but you wanted to be
pretty well covered so you do the best you can. And like I said you wanted
to do this gently because the base underneath is still quite warm and if
your at all rough with it, it will tear up the base and then it doesn’t look as
attractive. So, you want to be touching that chocolate without pulling up
the base underneath.
Filling in the last couple of spots on this one, let’s get some way over to
that corner. Okay, just want to make sure there is someone this last corner
here and it looks nice. So let’s sprinkle our broken candy canes all over.
It’s nice to have them broken up unevenly, some pieces large some pieces
small just fills in the gaps really nicely all over. You can smell that
peppermint too, and there we are. We have our two trays of peppermint
bark, we’re ready to let them cool for a couple of hours and coming up
next will cut them into a beautiful bars.
