This video is to demonstrate how to burn files to CD. First, before we get started, you need to put a blank CD in the CD drive. Once that is done, you want to focus your attention on the computer icon on the desktop.
We are going to double click on that and we are going to start at the D drive, right here. We are going to double click on that and we are going to open up the CD window. As you can see it is blank because the CD is empty and then if we are done. We are going to focus on how to write these files to the CD, right here. So, we are want to minimize this window because I am going to start dragging and dropping files I want to keep.
So, I am want to go back to my computer icon and I am going to double click on that again, and I am want to focus on my D Drive just get started. And in here looks like I only have one file. So, I am going to click, drag, and drop it. As you can see it will start copying over. Depending on the size of the files, the time it takes will be extend with the larger file amounts that you have.
The next place I am going to go to is the C Drive because I may have save things there too. So, I look, does not seem to be anything that I want. If you do not recognize it, then you do not need it. There will be a lot of files there that you do not recognize or understand, so do not take them.
The next place you want to go look is your H Drive. This is a great time to start cleaning out your files and getting rid of stuff that you do not need or want, especially for next year. These files will be here next year but it is always good to back them up.
In order select files you can click it in a white space and drag a box over all your documents, and drag and drop them. Just click on one file, drag it, and drop it, and that will start copying all your files to CD. I do not want to do that right now because all my files will take about 20 minutes to copy over. So, I am just kind of demonstrate by taking documents and I am going to move them over.
In the meantime, I am going to go back and I am going to go to T Drive for top boxes and I am going to copy and back up and save everything that I want for next year or for archives purposes. Top boxes is not an archiving location. So, we want to make sure it gets clean up the end of every school year and then, we can add back items at the beginning of the new school year.
So, please go into the teacher’s folder inside your folder if you like and grab out the documents that you know that you want for next year and want to back up and save because they will be gone when you come back. So, once I get those files and maybe I want some of my students files as well as an student examples of work. You are done, it looks like getting all your files.
So, then I want to go to my D Drive, where I have all of my files waiting to be burned to disc. All I need to do is click right these files to CD. Now, some of you might need to burn two CDs and the computer will let know if there is not enough room to burn all your files. If so, just make sure you have an extra CD on hand.
When the name your CD, a name that is rememberable. So, I am going to call this Lewis 2007 and that I am going to hit next, and it is going to start burning my files to do the CD. Once again, this could take about 5 minutes. When your files are done burning the CD, the computer will eject the disc for you and then, your done.
