And I have got a top five list of light bulb tips. Submitted by our friend Tuxedo Jericho and he submitted quite a few top five lists, just email on to me, chris@pirillo.com. I thought this was a good list to discuss with everybody. And number when replacing a light bulb, try to get one that uses less power, now we have the new twisted fluorescent bulbs, they use less power than any other incandescent counter parts and put off the same amount of light. So as I said before I am now taking up less energy, giving off more light and giving off less heat at the same time, saving money, brighter and I guess a little more eco friendly. The one thing about light bulbs that I do have now is kind of a small coviak, do expected to turn them on and have it be in full brightness immediately and it will take a couple minutes to warm up and then they are fine. But the light here now is a little warmer that it used to be but I really like the libel and they really do a good job. So find the one that works for you and specifically in your room.
Number two, if replacing a broken bulb, take a potato and cut it in a half, place it on the bulb and apply a little pressure towards the socket. Now, it will allow you to get the parts the bulb that are left and remove them. Be aware to make sure that the power is off first, it is very important; make sure that the power is off. I have heard that tip before, I have never thankfully had use it but use a potato if necessary.
Number three, when putting in a new bulb into the socket, rub a small amount of regular bar soap, not the liquid kind to the bottom of the bulb and it is ready. This will allow to turn on the socket a little more easily so if you are having something its kind of “eh eh eh”, grease it up a little bit, I do not know WD40 would work. And he is suggesting soap, I have never done this before so that is Tuxedo Jericho’s tip, not mine.
Number four, know the type of bulb you need for each light, someone answer better set for two and three wave bulbs. Now those bulbs are designed to have a different output levels per click on the power on and off. Some lens may take a special bulb, just make sure you know what type of bulb the lamp needs and you may try different types of bulbs. The lamp of course is going to take a certain threading but in different rooms, you may want a different light. Changing the bulbs on this room made all the difference in the world. This is a much more natural light in this room now than there was before. I tell you they are perfect bulb for this room.
Number 5, this final tip mainly pretends the theatre lights but after the bulb blows, make sure the bulb has cooled down and not to change it.
Household bulbs is do not normally that they are hot but the stage lights do, if you still feel heat, give a little more time to get cooler or use a good heat resistant glove. I have broke my hand a few times on twisting bulbs before, they already twisted out of their socket to change but sometimes I get a little itchy. Keep that in mind, you could still burn yourself especially if it is hot. I do not know if you could burn yourself even if it is too cold and that was really cold like absolute zero and then which case, I do not think bulb can operated at that temperature, these is not a normal one. No matter, I have really appreciate this tips Tuxedo Jericho, I hope they help a people out there, maybe motivate you enough to just change your lighting, change the type of bulb you have got, try something new, try something different, you could change the entire way you live in that particular room.
