How To Change Your Hair Color Using Photoshop
Hey guys, today I’m going to show you guys how to change your hair color using Adobe Photoshop CS4, and you can use Adobe Photoshop CS3 as well. Now I’m going to be using around it today so, yeah, okay; now the first thing you want to do is you want to select something called a Brush Tool, okay? It looks like that, here is the icon, just click it or you can click B on your keyboard and it’ll be selected, so it looks like that, okay? Now the second thing you want to select is something called “Quick Mask Mode”, and Quick Mask Mode is going to be, what we’re going to be using this to change the hair color, okay, of your image, alright so, looks like that as the icon, click it or you can click Q on your keyboard and it’ll be selected, okay? Make sure these are pushed in so these two things are going to be selected for now, okay? Okay now, as you can see you’re going to get this circle on your image when you’re selecting your image, okay? So what you want to do is you want to make sure this is the perfect size to fit this whole image, okay, cause we’re going to be selecting this image using this Brush Tool, so what you want to do is right click and you want to make sure it’s the perfect size, okay? You can change it smaller, bigger whichever you really like, so, what you want to do is you want to select this, the hair, right, and you you’re going to get this red marker; in this red marker, what you want to do with this red marker is select this whole surface of the hair, okay? So I’m going to be showing it too like that, just select this whole surface, right? Now as you get to short hair down here, like that, you want to right click and you want to make it a little bit small, the circle a little bit smaller, you want to just select that, okay? Don’t worry about the smallest pieces because those are not going to really effect anything, so make sure you don’t change that because they’re not going to look as great, okay? So you want to select the whole hair, make sure you make it perfect, I’m not going to make it perfect because just for the sake of the video for you guys, if you want it to look nice and fresh and all, make sure you make it really good, alright, don’t rush, okay so I’m just going to select this whole hair right here , just like that, you don’t want to select the face or anything, okay, you just want the hair, okay, as what we’re going to change. Alright, so make sure you don’t see any color down here, you just want the red, that’s it, okay, you may get the small pieces if you can. Alright that’s so, okay, now what you want to do is once you’re done, you want to get out of Quick Mask Mode, okay, that’s the important thing, and to get out of Quick Mask Mode you can click Q on your keyboard or you can just click this icon once again like that, it looks like that, click it again and you’re out of it. Okay, when you’re out of Quick Mask Mode you’re going to see that it’s selected the whole image, now the only problem with this is that it’s selecting the hair and the pic, and the image and we don’t want that because it’s going to see it’s just selecting the image. Now to get rid of this square, this selection square, you want to click, where is it, okay you want to click select, and you want to go to Inverse right there, okay? So, select, inverse and bam, it’s gone, alright? So this surface right here is gone and all you can see right now is the hair, okay/ Make sure you do that or else you’re going to change the whole picture and you don’t want that, you just want the hair, okay? And that’s basically it, now what you want to do is you want to click the layer and you want to go to new fill layer and you want to go to solid color, okay, I’m going to do it again; you want to go to layer, new fill layer and solid color, okay, click that and you’ll get this pop up, right, now you see it, at the bottom you’re going to see Mode, you want to click this drop down in here and you want to select Soft Light, okay, because we’re using hair, so we don’t want it to be too thick. Now, name it, I’m just going to name it HAIR, alright, click OK, and you’ll get this window here to change the hair color. Now this is the most important part, okay, so change the hair color to however you like, as you can see, you can change it to green, yellow, whatever color you want. Okay, now to, now I told you when you select this, you’re going to see that sometimes there’s a little, it’s coming out of the hair a little bit right there so make sure it’s perfect, okay guys, or else you’re going to have to do this again; alright I’m just going to make her hair blue, using this so, yeah, there’ s tons of color you can choose from, I’m going to make her hair a little bit, yeah, I’m going to try to make it a little bit, yeah, like that, alright so I’m going to click OK, so it looks like that, your final result is going to look like that, make sure it looks nice and great and basically that’s it, that’s how you change your hair color using Adobe Photoshop CS4 or CS3.
