Hi, my name is Mitch Knapp. I’m the owner of Scenic Landscaping & Tapestry Landscape Architecture and in this video clip we are going to discuss the creation of outdoor living spaces.
Okay right now, we are out in the room that was designated as an outdoor living room. As you can see through this property, the furniture has been laid out together. They’re actually from Brown Jordan furniture, it’s an outdoor wicker with waterproof cushions. From that, we have an outdoor television that stays out here from spring, summer and fall because taking in, in the winter time. We also have some pretty plant doors and pots that are about here that stay out all winter. Right now, it’s in summer rotation. It will also get change with some evergreens for the winter time. And lastly for some fun in the fall, we have chimenea and we can start some fires our here in the fall and watch TV at the same time.
Right now, we’re in an area that is the outdoor eating area. This was set up as a kitchen dining room set up in the backyard of somebody’s house. Here we have a course of outdoor barbeque just into it right here we have the outdoor refrigerator, cooking counter space to a little bistro table over here for the morning for a cup of coffee and then further out pushed into the yard is a nice mosaic table with an umbrella and actually a little outdoor light, everything is contained within the box wood hedge and this area is being used as a dining area.
Right now, I’m standing in a covered porch or lanai. This has been designed for rain protection and also a great area to hang out, possibly smoke a cigar, have a glass of wine. Right here, we got nice couch sitting here. Next to it, we actually have a covered woodpile that actually goes for the actual fire pits that are outside. And as we come down and we have a couple of rockers and a nice small table and above it, we have some fans which circulate the air that have lights on it. And lastly, you could see there’s a lot of ornaments here like the pots and the things on the wall that help the decoration and make this feel like it’s inside eventhough it’s outside.
Hi, as you can see we’re in another outdoor living environment. This one has set up with the full kitchen, full bar, every appliance you could possibly think off. Has a dining area, a living room area, another TV, they even had some outdoor furniture. This is a nice space to gather on a hot day or in the evening, on a light drizzle on the summer or during a thunder storm. This is a beautiful environment, it’s all a nestled in with the climbing hydrangea which is wrapping all the arches in the outdoor environment that we’re sitting in right now.
Right here we have an outdoor kitchen, we’re actually 20 feet off of the bottom floor of the house. So, this is a free standing unit, all stainless steel, has a barbeque, sink, ice maker, garbage areas, warming drawers and most important has a granite counter top in a light color so it’s not hot to the touch on your hands. Up on this terrace we had arranged the upper terrace to have living areas. We just left the kitchen area, now we’re going to a little to watch the sunset so that here and watch sunset, have a glass of wine. As we come down here you could see that there’s bigger dining area and this is where do all the dining is and behind that there’s actually a living room out here for an area where multiple people come and sit and either eat or drink or just relax.
This area here or lanai was designed to give a lot of outdoor space even if the weather is bad. It also gives a lot of shade protection. This was at free standing deck with wood beams and wood boards. Now, it’s a totally covered room where the children can play, you could eat outside, there’s a TV, there’s secondary outdoor, a kitchen underneath here, so this is a full area for outdoor living in any inclement weather.
