Dave: What we want to talk about today is how to design some unique containers. And, one of the things that I always have trouble with this do I pick the plants first or do I picked the pots first?
Connie: It is kind of a 50/50 thing, I think. I think lots of times the pot dictates what you are going to put in for plant material.
Dave: So Connie, tell me about this particular pot. This is pretty bold.
Connie: Yes, yap. This is making a bold statement. The formula for doing any container is something tall and spiky in the middle or towards the back, something midrange or moundy and then something in the edge low or cascading.
Dave: This is Rapunzel hot roses of Superbena.
Connie: Yes.
Dave: Annual plant
Connie: Yes.
Dave: And what we are going to do? Where with this go in the pot?
Connie: That will go near the edge of the pot.
Dave: This is a coleus?
Connie: Yes.
Dave: You can see the purple fix up right this. So, this is more in the middle?
Connie: Yes.
Dave: Or in the back?
Connie: What I pick for the tall range basically is agora and this is going to get much taller but you can see that the foliage and the flowers match the foliage, the color of the foliage on the coleus ester.
Dave: Alright, so this container not quite as bold as the other one and very nice choice of plants here. I love these. What do you call, is there a team here?
Connie: I would call this the English garden look. It is kind over grown; I am going with monochromatic colors in this one. Whites, pink, and purples.
Dave: A very interesting pallet here of plants. Tell me about this?
Connie: We have the bright, bright Chartreuse this is in the Poinciana of Flowering tobacco and then I kind of done just the opposite with this black ornamental pepper. It is called Black Pearl, and then somewhere into make it pop, I have used this plant here called Cuphea and it has got the purple and the bright red.
