How to work with playlists
Part 1
What is a playlist?
Well, here we are at my YouTube PixelHeadsNetwork channel and today we are talking about Playlist.
So we define Playlist.
Playlist are basically a collection of videos, usually they have the same theme and they can be viewed shared on YouTube or in better in other sites. Now you can create Playlists for any video you upload or watch from anywhere in YouTube. And you can also have as many Playlist as you want but you can only show three at a time on your channel. So for example here you can see that I have three Playlists that I am showing on my YouTube channel. Now if I had more, you will be able to click on See All and then you would see a list of every single Playlist, but I do not have anymore Playlist. So I will go back to my channel then you can see there that I have my three Playlist right there.
Playlist are great for those of you that may upload tons of videos. So for example I have a 138 videos in the PixelHeadsNetwork of shows and those videos are really episodes for three types of shows, one is called Mac411, the other one is Digital Media Quick Tips and the other one is EXPOzed. And I gave a little explanation of what each of those shows are. In this case which each of those playslist are but they really correlate to a show. So as you can see this is a perfect way of organizing videos into theme based Playlist.
Part2
Creating The Playlist
Okay so now we are now go ahead and actually create a Playlist.
So what you need to do is you just scroll up to the top, you should be logged in, I will log in this PixelHeadsNetwork which is my account. The way to get to Playlist, you can just go to my account, click on my videos. On the left side you have a variety of items. Click on Playlist. To create a new playlist, click on the New button, click on Playlist and then type in the name of the Playlist. In this case I am going to type it on as Final Cut Pro How - To Videos. And then click on Create and automatically what happens is it adds it to your list on the Playlist on the left. On the right hand side you have metadata about the Playlist and this is the Title, that is what is going to be known as, Description, I am going to say, “For Final Cut Pro editors by an editor that uses Final Cut Pro on a daily basis.” Of course you can write whatever you want. This is basically the theme of all the videos that are going to be in this Playlist.
This link you can share with any user you want so they can see your Playlist. The embed object is actually all the videos embedded inside a video player that you can then put on your website. Tags are just keywords, so I am go ahead and put Final Cut Pro color correction, video editing, trimming, pretty much that covers it. You can make this Playlist public which means anybody can see it or you can make it private and you can only share it to certain amount of friends. And you can also send it as a video long. And I will cover video log in the future but this will make this Playlist appear in the different location on your YourTube homepage. Once you are done, click on Save Changes and that is it, that saved my changes.
Part3
Adding Videos To Your Playlist
Okay now it is time to add videos to your Playlist. The way you do that, there is a variety of places you can add videos from. You can add videos from your uploaded videos, from your video id matches, from your favorites. You can also add them from other Playlist. So for example I have some videos here on Digital Media Quick Tip that I can go through and add them to another Playlist. You can add them from any subscriptions you have so you subscribe to other people’s videos, you can actually scroll through them and look at the videos they have and add them to you r Playlist. You can also add them from your quick list and if you have history turned on you can actually add them from history as well.
So there is a variety of places you can do it. You can also do it by browsing for videos. So for example, if I go back to YouTube
