Well, this is going to be the empty recycle bin. If you want to—if you only want it to appear on the recycle bin itself then you have to go through a little more trouble but we’re just going to put it in the shell, create a new key and call empty recycle been 2. Just make sure that that says two, yes it does. I just wanted to make sure. Create a new key in empty recycle bin 2. Call it command. Oops, scroll back up. Click that command and double click on the default key. And put a start quote. And we’re just going to type the directory of our delete batch file system32 RB2del.bat. And just end the quote. We don’t need a %1 because we’re not passing values, we’re just running the file.
Go ahead and click OK. And one last thing to do, if you stop now, you’ll notice that entries empty and move your recycle bin 2 now up here on all files and even shortcuts because they have .LNK extension which considers—that’s not a shortcut. Here’s the shortcut, just move it up. They have .LNK extension. You see, here they are which considered the file but on folders they do not appear. And you’ll notice that. That’s because folders are directory and they don’t consider what the asterisk. So, we’re going to need to stay in HKEY classes root, scroll down until you find directory. This is going to hold the directories. It’s down here somewhere there it is. Right there on directory, expand that, go into that shell. And in here, we’re going to copy those things we just made. So, go ahead and create a new key. We’ll call it move to recycle bin 2 again. And create another key called empty recycle bin 2. Create the command keys and both of those, alright!
Now, go and remove your recycle bin 2’s command key and type in that code again, C:\WINDOWS\system32\RB2bin.bat and then we’ll type the value of %1 end quotes again. And then go to empty recycle bin 2’s command key and just type the value once again of that delete system32\RB2del.bat. All right and you go ahead and make sure you type that right. All right! Everything seems to be good. You can exit out your register editor now. And we’re all done. We just need to test to make sure everything works. What we see, we have our recycle bin 2 here, you double click. There’s nothing in it right now. Let’s go ahead and exit out for now. I’m going to copy some files over here that I have. All right, let’s go ahead and drag these files over here. And then I’ll create a—well I actually copy this eventide sun folder. You know inside eventide sun folder. And inside of eventide sun, you’ll see it has more folders in it and more files in it and more folders, and more files in those folders. So, we’re going to make sure everything works here.
So, right click and move each of these files to the recycle bin or recycle bin 2. All right! Now, let’s double click in the recycle bin 2. You’ll notice that here are the files. Now, you can manually delete them each out of there or you can empty the recycle bin 2. So, let’s go ahead and just right click on any random file and click empty your recycle bin 2. And you’ll notice that everything is gone now. We can even move more files to the recycle bin 2 and you see there it is. I’m going to drag up back out because I do not want that deleted. And then if we go to start menu, computer, C drive, you’ll notice that RB2 or actually it didn’t had at that time. RB2 is now visible, so we’ll just need to go back in that batch file and check exactly what we did. And so let’s go back in the windows, that is our only folder, everything else works, go back in the system32 down here. I’m going to wait for my system32 files to load. All right, come on! There we go. Now, I’ll search down. Just a moment my phone is ringing. I’ll be right back.
Okay, I’m back. I just had to take a quick phone call. Now, what I’m doing right now is just pressing R to go down the list and find the file. It is not easy with the screen recorder. But here it is, rb2del.bat. Let’s move this over. Oh, man! Move this over here. Okay, rb2del, edit that file. Let’s just, you know, just to make things simple, let’s delete the last three actions we wrote, we want it to write up to the remove directory. We’re just going to create the directory as is so C:\RB2 and then attrib C:\RB2 +r +s +h.
Let’s see if this works. I’m going to go ahead and save that. All right and we’ll get out of here and move this over again. I’m going to once again run a little test and we’ll pull out my computer. See, C drive, we’ve got RB2 directory right there. Let’s copy some files here and put them into our recycle bin. You can also just drag files into the recycle bin 2 folder or this icon right here and then it will put that in there. Then let’s copy eventide sun again and pop that in there. So now, if we open up RB2, you can see steps in here. Let’s just right click on here and click empty recycle bin 2, see if everything works.
All right! RB2 is no longer visible. However, if we click recycle bin 2 and drag files in there, you can see that it does still exist. So, all we needed to do is change a little bit of code around and it’s done now.
