To get started with our scrunchie you are going to need an elastic hair band and a yarn. I am using a size āGā hook, you can use any size. We are going to start slip knot and we are going to attach the yarn to the head band of the elastic hair bond. We are going into the band, grab your yarn and hold on to the band and the yarn and pull it trough the band and the loop on the hook. And now your yarn is attached to the loop and now we are going to work around the band. We are going to do double crochet in the band and you are going to do this double crochets all around the band and it is going to as you can see. It is going to cover the band so you are not going to see the elastic band.
Continue doing this all the way around the band. Once you get back to the beginning, we are going to join in the first stitch here and then in each double crochet, first we are going to chain two. In each stitch around, we are going to put three double crochets. So in this first stitch right here, we are going to do a three double crochets, one, two, three, all in the same stitch. In the next stitch you are going to do the same thing, three double crochets, one, two, all at the same stitch. We are going to do this all the way around. We are going to do three double crochets in each stitch all the way around till you get back to this beginning point. So you can continue on doing that.
Once you get to the end, we are going to join that first chain two space that we did we are going to slip stitch into that to join. Now on this third and final round, now this is what your scrunchie should look like so far. On this third round what we are going to do is we are going to chain three, we are going to skip one stitch. We are going skip this stitch and then we are going to double crochet in the next stitch. We are going to chain three, we are going to skip the next stitch and crochet in the next stitch so double crochet. We are going to chain three, skip the next stitch and crochet in the next one, double crochet in the next one.
And this is what it is going to look like on this third round. Chain three, skip one, double crochet in the next, chain three, skip one, double crochet in the next. You are going to continue doing this all the way around till you get to the beginning. We move to the end of your round. We are just going to join in this first stitch here and we are going to pull our yarn. Clip our yarn and now we are going to make our knot and then we are going to sew in our ends. If you wanted to, you would not have to do the last round you could just -- if it was big enough the other way without the round you could just do the two rounds or you could do a third round with just double crochets again. You can put your own touch on these scrunchies. You can look in -- a good amount in the back of the scrunchie so that is not seen on the front side. You can also use any kind of yarn. This is just the worsted weight yarn. You could use fun fur. You could use chanel yarn. You could use Homespun yarn, really does not matter. The sizes will be different but you can make us many rounds as you want to make it the size you want. So scrunchies are pretty flexible as to the yarn in the hook and the stitches that you use. Rips your ends and you have your scrunchie.
