This is a video response that I got going out to xxcardxxx. What they want to know, I will explain the email now. What type of setup would you recommend for 23. Being outdoors, the music would be hard densed, hard style. We want to really bring out the sound. Not just big bass, wide on mid and high. We are thinking of full 15 main speakers. So, 15 and a horn, 225 watt sub woofers, and the main speakers and horns. And then, there you go. Also, passing crossovers, which one would you recommend. Also, we would like the system to be upgraded. So, if we need to buy more bass, we can, and more mid and top, we can.
Now then, I have done this, God knows how many things. I know that I am editing things. So, I could spend the whole day talking about this. But, try and keep it under five hours.
Now then, when you are inside, a speaker on a stand, 400 watts for two of those for 50 people is fine and adequate. Because sound in a room bounces off all the walls like this. It will bounce all over the place that it sounds very loud. But as soon as you put that speaker outside, the sound vanishes because sound is a wave. And what happens is that it hits a wall inside and bounces back. So, it bounces all over the place. As soon as you put that outside, it goes, it is gone. So, I would say, four speakers, 200 watts to 400 watts is on the borderline of being not enough. It is not on the borderline, it is just about being enough. It is on the borderline of being not really enough.
Now then, with regards to your bass, you definitely have not got enough. Because trust me, you are all saying that you want more mid and top. That is fine because you want a clearer sound. But, try and explain that to every single one who is coming along, you have to stand at the door and say, “I am sorry but the sound quality of the mid and top is going to be fine. There is not going to be much bass.” 90% of the clubbers love their bass. I do. So, you will need more bass especially outside because bass will just go. In fact, the funny thing about bass, you could be standing next to the speaker, you could get a full in place sound. You could be, “This is so weird.” Maybe you can explain the physics of this. You could be standing 12 foot away from the speaker and you will think, “Where is it? Where is the bass?” But, you could be standing half a mile away and you will just hear, boom, boom, boom, boom. So, you need more bass, mid and tops, probably board away, go for active crossover because that is the best thing whereby if you got an active crossover, you can always upgrade to it.
So, I think that I have covered everything. I hope that I had been a help. If you need any more information on this, email me or leave a video response or something like that. If anyone else out there has got any more comments, bomb them underneath. Thank you for watching. Practice and enjoy.
