Hi my name is Maiysha, and I am a ford model. And today I am going to share a few of my tips for dealing with curly hair. A couple of things about curly hair in general, do not wash it everyday. It tends to be dry, it tends to get rally frizzy. I shampoo max once a week but the thing I do to everyday is I rinse it and I can condition it. And I switch up my conditioners a lot because as you know your hair can get used to certain products so it is really good to kind of switch to that. Anything that has got a higher moisture content. When you getting out of the shower, towel dry, but do not rub your hair. Do not put your towel on your head and then scrub, scrub, scrub, scrub a lot, you want to apply it gently from root to tip and let it go. Let it still be damp because that is how those curls going to spring back to life.
Okay. So this is some of the products I used. I am very faithful to the Redken line, really like their anti snap which keeps the elasticity of my hair. In top, my hair grow and it keeps it from breaking when people are pulling on it and blow drying it everyday. After I wash and condition I usually just do about three pumps from the bottle. Next, I used one of two products to really kind of define my curls and keep them looking good and I really gage it on the weather. If it is a high humidity day, I go straight for the hardcore smooth down detangling cream. On the lighter days or you know in the middle of summer, I am going to let it air dry, I just use little Fresh Curls Curl Refiner.
Now the last product that I have sitting here in the table is really great especially if you are on a budget because this cost probably $5.00 or less. Dove Intense Frizz Control, it is an anti frizz cream, weightless moisturizer, so sometimes in addition to all of these other stuff, I will just pop this on right at the end and it really does help a lot.
I usually like to let my hair air dry if I have the chance but you do not always have the chance. In that case, what you want to have is a blow dryer with a diffuser attachment, this is a basic Vidal Sassoon Ceramic Hair Dryer. I think it retails for about $20.00 and this is a curly hair staple. You got to have this if you really want your hair to have a lot of body and a lot of shine. So essentially what I would do is I will put it on maybe a warm setting but usually a cool and just put your hair over and you just kind of move it around gently. I think it usually takes about 20 to 25 minutes because I have a decent amount of hair but totally worth it for the results that it gives me.
Sometime somebody’s curls want to do their own things so on a day that I need little more polish I always go to my curling irons. I have little many curling irons that I use. They have dials on them which means you can adjust the amount of heat and again when you are talking about curly hair it tends to be a little bit more fragile. So you really do not want to put too much heat on it. Usually for me I go a little straight around the face sometimes but the curls so sometimes I will go back in with a curling iron. And what I will do is I go piece by piece and I will wrap it around the rod making sure that I do not actually get the end in there and then ease it out of that rod. I just like to do a few. I do not want to go overboard. That is a really good way. If I have a couple that went straight, just take 5 minutes and polish it a little bit. So that is how it is done or at least how I do it. Thanks for watching my curly hair tips. I hope they work for you and happy curling.
