CHAINING GUARD SWEEPS
We are going to show the series of four now, the way that you chain these together, starting with Scissor Sweep. We are going to go in succession. The first time I am going to actually perform a Scissor Sweep.
The second time I am going to perform a Scissor Sweep, and my partner is going to base out, so I am going to use the Mayflower.
Third time, I am going to go for the Scissor, he is going to block it, I am going to go for the Mayflower, he is going to post his leg, so I am going to go for the Elevator.
The last time, when he moves the leg and I miss the Elevator, I go straight in a Knee Push. So this is what your series of Four Guard Sweep should look like.
The first one. I am starting here, I go straight into the Scissor Sweep. I sweep right here, right over into the Mount, that's your Scissor Sweep.
This time I go for the Scissor, my opponent's knee comes out, too far for me to roll him. So I go here, he bases out. Immediately, I reach under and behind his leg, this leg kicks out, I go up and over, into a Mayflower.
This time when I go for the Mayflower, he has now posed his leg up. So I go Scissor, he bases out. I go Mayflower, he lifts his leg. I immediately go over to the Elevator; all I do is that leg was here, I just load it underneath his leg. I am going to lift it, and sweep him with the Elevator.
This time when I go for the Elevator, he is going to move his leg or he is going to based out in a weird direction, he is going to block me from rolling him this way.
So I go for the Scissor, he base it. I go for the Mayflower, he stands. I go for the Elevator, he blocks me going this way. Immediately, I change directly back into the knee push. I push his leg, ride him over the other way.
That's just a session; Scissor Sweep, Mayflower, Elevator, Knee Push, you can go in any order, you can chain those together however you want, that's just a good series to get started with, really increases your chances of sweeping your opponent from your guard.
