FALLING ARMBAR
The next submission that weare going to work on is not really a Falling Armbar, but more of a Falling Armbar; got a little bit more realistic approach, if you will, in a Falling Armbar.
So we are here. The biggest key -- we are going to move these arms so that you can see, but the biggest key is that when we are in this wrestler's crunch, this head on crunch, I want to take my far side leg, and I want to put my foot up as high as I can, and my shin across his chest as much as I can. So right here.
I am going to keep his head really tight. This is the key. If I lose his head or if his head gets way out here, I am not going to be tight enough for him to be able to finish the submission. I have got to keep him in closed.
When I do this, I am going to throw this leg up, I am going to put my shoulders, flat on the floor, creating a 90 degree angle between my opponent and myself, when I do that, I am going to pull him down with me, throw the other leg over, finish with an armbar.
So we are here. I sit and I fall to the side here, over to an armbar.
Let's take another look at that. Sometimes your opponent will fall all the way over you. Sometimes he won't, sometimes he will stack you up. We have got a couple of different variations, and always if your opponent -- once we hit the ground, that armbar, same as from the guard, if your opponent pulls your arm out, go for the triangle, go for the Mayflower Sweep. Remember your chains, but it's a good way to get to him.
We are here. I am going to sit up and out. all in one motion; all the way over into the armbar. Get up in the other angle, from here. The key to this is keeping contact. I have got to keep his head as close as possible.
So I am here. This comes up as high as I can. If I throw it here, when we land, I am not going to have any pressure across him, I have got to keep that up as high as I can.
So I will keep him in close, throw this up as high as I can, pull him down with me, set down the angle, here, the armbar.
This angle, we are here. All in one motion; I sit at a 90 degree angle, throw this up, sit out. Looking the head, getting the armbar.
Last angle. We are here. All in one motion; this comes up and I sit down at 90 degree angle, here. It's going to be your Falling Armbar. It's a good take down, straight into a submission. We are into a series of attacks of sweeps and submissions.
