HELICOPTER SWEEP TO FOOT LOCK
The next thing that we are going to start working on is wearing our guard when our opponent stands up. How does -- that we attack his base when he is standing, alright. The first way we are going to do is we are going to scoop under -- we are already under hook away, we are going to scoop under, we are going roll out to a foot lock, alright. We are here, our opponent starts to stand up, as he stands, as he stands up we are going to reach under here, alright. I let my guard go, you see how when I let my guard go, I didn't just sit down underneath it, I am pushing out over to one side, that's because just like the whole Lettuce leaf or the Mayflower, I am going to be swinging this leg out and around, I am going to do a back somersault. I'd like to use his body to help me kick over, I go all the way around here, right here. Now a lot of people say that you should just push back on the shoulder and put pressure on the knee, some people say you should just snatch the leg out, I do a little bit of both. I raise the leg up off the ground, I pull it and I push with the shoulder, here. When I do this, immediately if I want can't just go to the side now. Immediately I switch my grip with my hands and I go into a traditional toehold.
Alright, one more time. Now we are here, my opponent stands, when he stands we open our guard and we reach under to his leg and I am not just sitting down directly underneath him, I am out, okay. I am up here, I sit around and helicopter round him, all the way over. Now, I pop the leg up from underneath him, switch my grip, alright, and from right here taking this arm up here, stacking my wrist, grabbing the outside of his foot and bringing his toes towards his face, traditional toehold.
One more time on the other side. Opponent stands, we he stands, we open our guard and we hook under, we are going to take this -- we are going to sweep all the way around and do a back somersault, a back somersault all the way over beside him. Now I snatched his leg up from underneath him here, I switch my grip, as I switch my grip, stack my wrist, grab his foot, take his toes toward his head, that's the traditional toehold.
One more time from a different angle. Our opponent stands, we opened our guard and immediately under hooked his leg, okay, I am not going over the leg, I am going down under hooking it. I am going to do the back somersault all the way around, all the way up and over. Now I pull the leg out from underneath him, switch my grip, finish with the toehold.
Alright, that same angle, in other direction. We are here, our opponent stands, when he stands we open our guard under hook a leg and sweep out in one motion. We are going to sweep all the way around, do a back somersault, here. So that's the leg up from underneath him, switch our grip, finish with the toehold. That's a helicopter sweep all the way over and to a traditional toehold when your opponent stands in your guard.
