HOOK AND ROLL ESCAPE
Alright, the next side mount escape that we are going work, is a Hook and Roll. We are going to show at the end of the four how they're all chained together, but this is the next one on the series that we are going to work on . You can start with this one, you can start with any one of the chain continue the chain or rearrange it however you want, but this is called a Hook and Roll.
That's your opponent in a side mount, he has got both his knees up close to you, okay. Remember the table theory from mount, that applies in side mount too. I want to reach up this leg, I am going to reach up and step in over his leg. We are going to show this from a couple of angles, so you can see what I am talking about. But I am going to hook it. I have just hooked with my foot. This arm is going to block this leg, so that, he can't shoot it straight out and permit the roll. So we are going to go here. I am going to take this arm. I am going to hook right here. I am going to punch that way, straight over this way, over the shoulder and then I am going to kind of do a back somersault. He is going to feel really crazy first, but after you get use to it. You will see how, you are going to bridge with this and you are going to kick this over his body.
Okay, give it a try. We are here, I have hooked, I am going to punch, kick and roll all the way, over into my side mount, alright. One more time, we are here, I am going to reach back, I am going to step over and hook his foot. I reach down with this arm, bridge and roll over with this one. Punch with this one, all the way over. Now I established a good side mount. Another angle, so you can see what we are working with. We are here, I want to use this, to reach up, and give me space to hook in here. When I am hooked in on this, this is the way I am going to hook it, okay. This is what's going to give me some leverage. This is the sweep, this, bridge and roll, and I punch with this one. Over into a side mount. One more time, we are here, I come in, hook, and a punch, all in a motion. Okay, without the partners, so you can see what the movement looks like. We stepped over his leg, and hooked it. We are blocking the leg with this arm.
This leg is under bridge and roll, and we punch over. We are going to bridge up through right here, and when we bridge up, now we get kicked his leg, I am going to do the somersault. So from here, kick over, and come up into a side mount, alright? That's your hook and turn escape. The next move we are going to go over later in the series, is going to feed off of that one, and all these chained together, we are going to show how they go, one, two, three, four. He gets out of one, he puts himself into the next.
