INSIDE LEG TRIP
Our next Takedown is called an inside leg trip, and it sounds kind of complicated, it looks kind of complicated when you first do it. Pretty simple, I am going to reach in around his leg, and I am going to grab my own leg. The momentum of what's falling is what's going to carry this over. The trickiest part about this Takedown, is not landing in his guard, when you take him down, okay. You are going to see to the set up. It's kind of hard, do it slow, because you cannot do a cartwheel over your opponent, but be careful, when you've trained it, but also understand that it's one of those that kind of works a little bit better in a real situation, as opposed to trying to work with it slowly, because when you work with it slowly, you lose a lot of momentum that carries you over.
So we are here in this wrestler's clinch, this head and arm clinch. I am going to step through just like a single leg, but kind of backwards. I am going to step through with my other leg, okay? When I am going to step through, I am going to grab with my leg. So from here I step in, and hook. Now I am going to reach through and I am going to grab that leg. I am just going to fall to the ground. When I fall to the ground, I am going to I lean forward, that momentum on his leg will force him down, okay? When he falls, I am going to do the cartwheel over him.
So we are here. I step in, and down, over into a side mount. Now the higher you can get your legs, when you do this cartwheel, the better chance you have of not ending up in your opponent's guard. Okay, again, we are here, I step in deep, catch. On the other side, we are here, I want to step in deep, and really use the momentum. Once I am doing this way, pay attention to how I hook the leg. I am here, I step down, shoulder down, cartwheel. Over into a side mount. One more time, full speed in that angle. I am here, I step in. It's called an inside leg trip. Be careful when you're trying this one, puts a lot pressure on the front knee.
