The next submission that we are going to work on is the triangle choke from the guard position. We have out opponent in our guard. There are couple of common ways to set this up. Probably the most common is when your opponent attempts a Single Under Pass. So your opponent has reached one leg under your legs. There are a couple of different ways to get in there if you want to do this. But what I want to do is reach up and control this head, take this leg, notice my foot just like the armbar as on his hips and I create this 90 degree angle. I am got to take this arm, it has to be across here. If his elbow is across my body, I am never going to complete this choke.
So again, our opponent goes one arm. Immediately this foot goes to the hip, I created a 90 degree angle, just like I am setting up the armbar. I take my leg over his head right there. His arms comes across. Now I am going to complete the choke by taking this leg and hooking it over my other leg. Here, pointing my toes towards the floor. Very, very tight choke.
One more time. Our opponent goes to the Single Under Pass. As he does that my foot immediately comes to his hips. Up and over, our bodies at a 90 degree angle. I am going to take this foot, reach up and down. If I need help with it, I can grab back his head and pull it toward me or if I need help with it when I have the choke, I engulf my elbows and skid away from him. Very, very tight choke.
Going the other way. Our opponent sets to Single Under Pass. Immediately this foot goes to his hip. This leg comes up and over. I drag his arm across like the armbar, other leg comes up. Point, toes are toward the floor.
See that from another angle. We are here in the guard. Our opponent is going to attempt a Single Under Pass. Our other foot goes to his hip. You control his head and his arm, turned at a 90 degree angle. My leg comes up. I really going to reach up high for this. I am not trying to do this with my legs, just crossed up here. I am really reaching up high and now I pointing my toes toward the floor.
Notice my legs. I am really completing this choke by having my legs here. And I am not getting this with my leg up here. This way it's going to be the center of bend of my knee right there. So if I go this way and hook point towards the floor. Putting the triangle with my legs.
Let's look at that from the other side. Opponent goes for Single Under Pass. This foot goes to the hip. Controlling his arm, controlling his head, create a 90 degree angle or dragging his arm across. Reaching way up with this leg and then pointing it toward the floor, trying the choke .That's your triangle choke from the guard position. Work it very carefully and really have your opponent tap early because don't go up or he could do this choke.
