Male Speaker: Hey, welcome to another episode of tinkernut.com's video cast. If you haven't submitted a video for the special effects contest yet, you still get a few more days. We'll be deciding the winner sometime next week, so if you haven't got a video yet come on people let's go. Anyway, what I'm going to show you how to do in this video is - hold on. What the crap is that? This camera is brand new and it shouldn't have any defects and you know that is hold on. Alright, it's not coming off. What the crap is that? Go away. You know what? I'm sorry I can't do this right now.
So, what is a stuck pixel? It's a pixel that stuck on a specific color like this one. If that color is black, it's most likely a dead pixel, but if it's a different color, it's probably because the liquid crystal within the screen is stuck on a specific color filter between two glass plates. And there is couple ways of trying to fix that or losing up that stuck pixel. The first method is to do the software method and you can find some free software if you go to www.flexcode.org/lcd.html and I recommend putting this on full screen, and then you can choose a different color to help you locate what the stuck pixel is that and once you found it, you just run this all multicolored animation for about 20 to 30 minutes, and then see if it has loosened up the stuck pixel.
You can also create your own version of that software, if you open up notepad and type in this little script. Type colon A at color 53, at color 35, at color 23, at color 32, and then at go to A. And that just cycles through those color numbers that we just typed in, so you want to save it as a batch file, I'm going to color mine colors. bat and save as type all files and then save it. So, now when you double click on it, it's going to cycle through those colors and you want to place that over the affected area of the screen and see if it works. Now the second method you need to use extreme caution on it, I recommend not doing this at all unless you are experienced and know exactly what you are doing because you could cause your LCD screen to look like this and that's going to make it a lot work.
So, the first method is called the pressure method and you want to use pen or a pencil a towel for this method. Find where the stuck pixel is that, and then turn off the screen and press down using the pencil and the towel on the stuck pixel, and the turn the screen back on. And repeat that process if you want to just see if it loosens up the stuck pixel. The next method is called the tapping method and what you are going to do with this is get a marker and just tap on the affected area of the screen to see if you can loosen up the stuck pixel. So those are the couple of different ways to try and loosen up the stuck pixel. You have to neither those work, what I recommend dealing before even trying these is see check with your LCD manufacturers and see if you can't return it for a different screen that would be your best option. If you are going more towards last resorts if you have no other options, then try these options yourself to see if you can get it to work.
