Besides knowing you were on the scales and being qualified to solve important business problems, you need to look carefully at the size and the type of companies that you intend to serve and that you intend to target. How can you plan your IT service level agreement so that you get more steady high-paying clients? We’re going to talk about 3 tips that can help you build a profitable service agreement business.
First, choose the right size to businesses to target with your IT service level agreement. When you’re just starting your service agreement business, usually it pays to start small, start with the client size that you can approach comfortably. This will probably be small business with maybe 10 to 25 maybe, as many as 50 systems with, perhaps 1 or 2 servers. They typically will not have a wide area network, and they typically will have some pretty basic needs when it comes to business software applications. When you start out by targeting smaller small businesses, although the revenue potential and lifetime client value isn’t quite as high, you can more easily build up and set the stage and kind of practice on some of the smaller accounts so you get ready fore the larger small business clients; so first and foremost when it comes to getting great clients with your IT service level agreement, make sure that you choose the right size businesses to target with your IT service level agreement.
Second, keep up communications with clients; in order to develop successful IT service level agreement relationships, you need to remain in constant contact with your valuable clients. Keeping the lines of communication open through e-mails and phone calls or drop in visits, these will help to manage your client expectations. If your service agreement is set-up properly, you and your technical staff will be at each client’s side at least once or twice per month. Staying in touch on a regular basis is extremely important if you want to build up those quality mutually beneficial client relationships and at the same time manage and even exceed your clients’ expectations. So second, make sure that you keep up with communications with your clients.
Third, know that surveys can help you evaluate your progress, kind of like your report card. As a result of all that, you should be really looking to send out surveys to your prospects, customers and clients as part of your plan for a profitable It service level agreement package. Prospects, of course, you want to ask why they haven’t signed up yet. Customers, you want to ask what you can do to motivate them to sign up and clients, ask them how you’re doing. Surveys, particularly with clients work best when you, send out a couple months before you’re ready for contract renewals, you can adapt that schedule that twice per year or maybe even quarterly if you wan to get more interim feedback. Surveys can be informal, you certainly don’t need to have a PhD in statistics, or have an MBA or do any kind of fancy stuff like that, they can be pretty informal, you know, think of it almost like putting together a simple comic card like the kind you light see in a restaurant, but you mean to make sure that you keep it asking for feedback on a regular basis.
