The puffy eyes in the morning, there are make-up tricks that I can teach you but before, first things is first. Just wear an eye mask for about five minutes in the morning before starting any other cream or make-up. Then you can apply these decongesting little masks that a lot of cosmetic companies produce and these you have to leave on for at least five to ten minutes and they will make a huge difference on hydrating the skin under the eye and de-puffing them.
Five minutes later you just remove it and the eye is much, much refreshed. Now in terms of make-up the puffy eyes are always going to be a bit of a problem because they lean against the lashes and they might always leave a mark. So it is most important to always put a primer on. The primer is going to fix the eye shadow onto the lid so that it does not fall over on to the lashes as the lashes are going to be very often in contact with the eyelid.
In terms of shape for a puffy eye, what we want to do is create a shadow where the eye is puffy and coming over to the lashes by creating a shadow here we will be able to make that part of the eye recede. So by taking the semi-dark color of a not too creamy of an eye shadow, this might solve a lot of the problems. It is recommended to not wear actually eyeliner or anything too dark near the lashes because it will accentuate the depths.
So it is important to keep the dark shadow just by the eyebrow bone and then have the top lid of the eye be lightened by much lighter shadow, which ever color you decide to you use. It could be white, or it could be slightly pink but it has nevertheless to be light.
Eye shadows on the eyes should always be powder. If they are cream they are going to mix up with the mascara and it is going to be a big mess and because we have to put quite a lot of dark shadow to make the bourbon recede, we need to balance that with having enough make-up at the bottom so that it is all the way around a balanced look.
Therefore the only place that you can put eyeliner is at the very outer corner of the eye because if you want any further in it would actually make the eye recede even further. Because a puffy eye has so much volume on top, you want to accentuate the length of the eye and then you take more room that way and because we have primed the eyelids for the makeup, now we are actually able to curl the lashes and have the lashes against the skin of the lid without it going all over the place because it has been primed and we have used dry eye shadow.
The eyelash curler is going to help opening the eye up so that the least amount of shade is going to be done to the eye. It is enough with the lid. We do not need to have lashes shading the face on top of it. Make sure to use waterproof mascara so it does not go and smudge itself all over the eye shadow make-up. A last minute tip to brighten an eye that is too deep put a little bit of shimmer pencil right in the corner that will bright everything up and always the last touch up always brush the eyebrows up before you run at the door but here we go and the eyes have opened up.
