Hey YouTube! And welcome to another exciting Tubetorial brought to you by TechSupportGoneBad.com. So today, I'm going to teach you guys how to get stripes in your YouTube background. This is a follow up to one my previews videos on how to make an awesome YouTube background and well, yeah. So let’s get started.
The first thing you want to do is obviously go to stripegenerator.com. Obviously, stripegenerator.com is what it says, it’s a stripe generator, it lets you generate some stripes. So let’s make some stripes. In this case, I'm going to leave the stripe size and the stripe spacing to the default which is 20. You could change it if you want. I'm going to make two stripes, one of them black and the other one, let’s say green and make sure to click on the refreshing arrows on the little preview window so it shows your thing, so it shows your stripes. I'm going to make some shadow, I'm going to leave the background color to white and I'm going to leave the stripe orientation to point to the right.
Okay, so once you are done making your stripes, you want to make sure it’s tiled because if it’s not, then you’re screwed, make sure it’s tiled, and then press download. Once you click download, a download window will pop up, you want to either open it with Fireworks or save it so you can open it whenever you want. I'm going to save it. so press okay.
Okay, so once you press okay, it’s going to save it to wherever you want, in this case, my desktop. So next, you want to open up Mac media Fireworks and you want to open up the YouTube background template. If you have seen my previous video on how to make an awesome YouTube background, you’re familiar with this template, but if you are not, then go make sure to watch that video. Also, the link to this template will be in the video description, so don’t worry, you could just download it from the link.
Okay, so once you have the template opened, you want to take the rectangle tool and make a rectangle in the background. Okay, so once you made the rectangle, go choose right here where it says the fill category and it should say solid. So click on the arrow, so this menu, drop down menu pops up then go on pattern and all this will open up. Then you want to scroll down and click other. Once you click other, you want to choose the stripe that you just made, double click on that and as you see, the stripes, it’s in the background now. And to make it in the background, you want to choose the layer of the stripes and drag it below everything else. So it looks like this.
Then you could go ahead and add whatever you want, add for example in the rounded rectangle up above, right over here, you can add for example TechSupportGoneBad.com or whatever you want. So once you’re done, click code of file and click save as, either that or go to control shift S for the shortcut key and save it. I'm just going to save ti my desktop, remember as a JPEG file. And I'm going to save t as YouTube background template or just YouTube background. Okay, then click save.
And now, instead of having to go to let’s say ImageShack.us and upload it to ImageShack, YouTube has this great feature that you could just upload it directly to YouTube. So it’s a great feature, but it’s also pretty bad because the feature allows you to upload it straight to YouTube instead of putting the link from for example ImageShack, but the bad thing is the maximum file size has to be 256 K. So it can even be one megabyte, that’s like half of a half of half of a megabyte. And if any you are wondering, that is one of my YouTube background, it’s pretty blurry, it’s not that clear, it doesn’t look that good right now, it’s stripes and yeah, I made it stripes, but the thing is that the stupid file size limit that YouTube now has, it’s not clear, its blurry. And if anyone knows a way around that, please leave a comment on this video telling me because if you go to my YouTube and loo at it, yeah, it’s not looking so good/
So well, yeah, if you find a way around that, make sure to talk. Okay, so anyways, all I have to do is click browse, once you’re on edit channel, click browse, look for the file, double click on it and just upload it straight to YouTube, and make sure that its not the maximum file size, it’s 256 K or else YouTube will give you a warning that says, this picture or file or whatever is too big, pleas resize it and upload it again.
And well yeah, that concludes my tutorial on how to make stripes for your YouTube background, hope you guys learned something today, be creative with it and have fun with stripe generator and until next time, TechSupportGoneBad here.
