I have to agree with the last comment. What a useless video - almost an insult to any diy'er. Sure the project they depict is a "1" - if you are replacing a state-of-the-art window in new construction with almost a similar one. I almost burst out laughing when the preparation involved directions on first removing brand-new removable sashes!

First of all why would you replace a basically new window like the one they replaced in the video. Most of the windows needing to be replaced are the old wood sash windows or the older aluminum windows. They dont even show you how to measure correctly, or at all for that matter. You may also need head expander and seal adapter.

How To Install a Replacement Window - The Home Depot

Replacement windows are installed into existing window frames. One of the great things about these windows is that they’re very simple and quick to install. A replacement window can generally be installed in less than an hour. On a scale of one to five, with five being very difficult, this project is about a one. Always ensure you have the following tools and supplies when installing a replacement window. Pry bar, hammer, Philips head screw driver and safety glasses. Okay, let’s see how we install a replacement window. Remove the existing lower sash, by raising the sash a few inches and then tilting inwards from the top. Remove the sash. Remove the existing upper sash by lowering the sash a few inches, tilt again inwards from the top and removing it. Remove the sash liners. Use a pry bar to remove the interior windows stops on each side of the existing window. Save these stops, because you will re-install them later. Insert the replacement window into the jamb by tilting the bottom of the window into place and then pushing the top of the window into the opening. Screw the window into place through the existing screw holes in the window. Re-attach the interior stops. From the outside of the window, apply a bead of cock between the blind stop and the new vinyl window around all four sides.
