How To Lose Weight Eating Organic
Am I a hippie? After researching our upcoming video, I realized I might be a borderline crazy vegetarian, Birkenstock wearing, animal activist disguised in the body of a pink and green wearing cape cod preppy. I had no idea how passionate I was about eating organic food until I read up on my facts. Could eating organic be the best kept weight loss secret? Blaming the obesity epidemic on overeating and inactivity has yet to solve any problems. But now, research is pointing to the expanded production and usage of synthetic chemicals as the culprit of the current weight problem in America. What are these chemicals that are causing people to gain weight? Pesticides, growth hormones, artificial flavoring, herbicides, and any other man made chemical that we ingest are hazardous to our health. I am talking about Olestra, High Fructose Corn Syrup, Aspartame, Saccharine, MSG, etc. Already proven to cause cancer, now they are being blamed for obesity throughout various studies. With 68% of Americans overweight, the end of the obesity problem is not going away any time soon. Did you know more than 34% of Americans are obese? Most people will agree with me that a cup of raspberries is better than a 100 Calorie Pack. What about 2 tbsp of Organic Peanut Butter? Even though the peanut butter is higher in calories and fat, it is much more nutrient dense than the chips ahoy making it easier for your body metabolize. The Chips Ahoy lacks nutrients and has high fructose corn syrup which your body can’t break down! It therefore gets stored in your fat and may alter it’s natural abilities. Fifty years ago, hormones, preservatives, and pesticides were not used to produce the foods we now eat. Our bodies can’t use the products for energy or get rid of them so the unused left overs from whatever you ate are stored inside our bodies and have now been shown to alter the natural functions inside. By eating sugar substitutes likes aspartame, you are saving calories today but building up hazardous toxins inside your body which may screw up your hunger levels, lower your metabolism or cause a cancerous tumor much later in life. The stored chemicals disrupt our body’s natural abilities to send signals when you are full or hungry, causing weight gain. Most doctors will agree that obesity is a large factor when it comes to cancer and other diseases. In fact, cancerous tumors have been found to be storehouses of high concentrations of toxic man made chemicals. Is a coincidence that obesity and cancer rates have risen in unison? Eating organic stops this deadly path from even beginning by eliminating the man made artificial products from even entering our bodies. Naturally higher in nutrients, organic foods can be easily used for energy and keeping our bodily functions healthy. It will also allow fat to better be used to fuel, and reduce stress inside your body, which increases energy and decreases inflammation. In simple terms, eat real food. If money is a concern and you simply cannot afford to buy organic groceries, follow the simple rule of “If you can’t pronounce the ingredients, don’t eat it.” Doctors and large food production companies will counter argue most of the results, and say there is insufficient evidence because not enough research has been done but why don’t you decide for yourself.
