Chris: I grew up in the great town of Altoona, Iowa, which is a suburb, really suburb. I guess it is kind of ease of Demoine Iowa which is the center part of Iowa. It is where I35 and I8 kind of meet right there in the middle, and so I was kind of surprise to get this email from Matt Millard who is from Altoona, Iowa. It is where I grew up and he is also just started to blog on Lockergnome.com for free, where were basically doing advertising splits with blogers. Lockergnome.com/virtualphotographer is where you can find that and he just posted it a new top 5 list on his locker on blog, top 5 tips for completing a 365 day photo blog and I cannot think of a more perfect day to start this thing on the first of the year.
Ponzy: Let us all do it!
Chris: Ponzy says, she is sitting over here off, just off cameras, she says let us all do it. Are you going to do it now? After you read it, alright! She says Pack, are you going to do a photo blog? Ponzy can do a photo blog.
Ponzy: Just one picture date.
Chris: Right! Just one picture date but you know, you have to stick to it. Now, this is you but I am saying he is now on video, so it is video recorded.
Ponzy: I will do it.
Chris: And so it is written.
Ponzy: One picture!
Chris: One picture it is. Right! It says I am headed to the finish line; I have only got two more post to complete my 365 day photo blog. Here are some tips that it helps me get through this experiment. Number one, make sure you have a measurable goal and track it. I personally use joulesgoal.com to track my posting goals. It is a simple web base goal tracker. I really like that I can set it up to send me an email reminder, if I had it update in my goal in the pass 2 days. It is also nice that you can post in your goal graph on a webpage. I use I-Google and have a widget on there to remind me as well. The more reminders for your goal, the better! Joules goal is also nice and that attracts your change of consecutive days.
Number two, you some sort of software that will let you post in the future for time to releases of your photos. This is the best feature of more impress ever; I tend to try to batch up my posting to save time. This is also works great fro back posting missing dates. If you are not super hang up on really posting everyday and thinking it, this works too. I would think be more genuine if you did it everyday but you know some days, I just cannot do it.
Number three, reward yourself. Come up with something that if you complete your 365 post, you would give yourself. In my case, I am planning on producing a book that will be in another post. I am looking it using blurb do the publishing, Blurb.com. It does not matter what you are aware of this. Some ideas are new lens for your camera and your flashes are really anything for enhancing your photography.
Number four, get a solid work flow. I personally use UFrawUraw.sf.net for raw conversion and raw would be formats that some digital camera should in that do not have any kind of artifact and any kind of compression of them. Most professional photographer shoots in raw instead of jay pegging somebody both at the same time. And he also uses this gimp.org for image manipulation. I do have Photoshop and I find that using gimp, 95 % of the time is flying. Does it matter what you use just to find something that works for you.
Number five; join flicker or some other social photography site to get feedback on your photography. This will help motivate you in keeping up on your shooting schedule. Look for a local group that you maybe able to go out on photo walking expeditions with.
Well, those are the top five tips for keeping you moving on your photo blog in 2008. Good luck to you, Matt in Altoona, Iowa. Well, Matt, it was good to hear from you and it is nice to see that you started Lockergnome blog photography is become a lot more accessible and I am very happy that a lot more people have access to cameras. I remember as a kid and you can ask my parents of this Ponzy, I wanted a camera for Christmas and I started on that picture price, cameras, it is not a real camera. Which is where you press a button and you see animal and a thing, and then my first camera ever was a Polaroid. Like one of those institute things, I still may have some of those photos from that original camera that are rate first day that I had, I was a kid.
Anyway, so yeah! I have kind of always been in like with photography and hopefully, you know maybe this year, I do not know if I will do it 365 day photo blog. Ponzy is going to do it, so maybe I have to join her, I will take a picture at heart. Maybe I take try to take a picture of something everyday, the same thing everyday. That would be more interesting in the way I think. I do not know, anyway, what do you think? You guys are starting to photo blog? And you start to a regular blog with content at lockergnome.com, like I said we do applets with our blogers, so Matt, we are already making money.
Anyway, my email address is Chris@Pirillio.com, if you have got top five tips about anything, maybe it is top five, think about bloging, photos, photography, digital photography, product suggestions, did tips about anything!
