We have the top five lists here submitted from Aaron and this is the top five homemade gift lists. Now you may be thinking yourself, “Chris it is January”, right now, the time of this recording. The Christmas season has already past, yes but birthdays and anniversaries, Arbor Day, Valentines Day, there we go, homemade gift, again from Aaron.
My name is Aaron, I have sent one list before but the hard days came to a close. I found myself thinking about the upcoming year, wanting that all those people stress during their merriest birthdays and holidays throughout the year is finding the perfect gifts for friends and family. I am a big believer and making gifts for people. I was finding the people appreciate a home made gift. Sure, they maybe asking for a “we” but taking the time to do something special for someone is even better than just buying something. At least in my opinion, so here is the top five lists of home made gifts. These are great for any occasions and you do not have to be an expert to pull them off. Number five, a hand written letter, card, poem or story. Sorry I had to catch my breath there.
This may seem silly but in this hand written letters or cards are losing out to the ease of email, text messaging and public networking sites. Why not sit down and take the time to actually compose a letter on paper. I try to do this in college and I found that most people really like getting a hand written letter in the mail. You can either just write them a letter, talking about how awesome they are or you might be even feeling creative and compose a quick poem or short story. Either way, you will give them something tangible to read or reread for as long as they have it, this is very true. In fact, randomly Tuxedo Jericho received a postcard from both Fancy and my self when we were in Hawaii. We are streaming live one day, we had an extra post card lying around, and we said, “Okay first person to post their snail mail address,” which was not probably the smartest thing that they could have done, but we trust everybody around here would get the post card in Tuxedo Jericho quick on typing.
Tuxedo Jericho knows that he got it today, he posted photos of that post card, he is very happy to get it. It was a simple gift to him he liked it. He posted four photos on flicker with the postcard which he in love with it he is crazy. Number four, knit a scarf. I do not have a knit in about one day. The easiest thing to knit is a scarf. And, once you know learn how to do the basic stitch, you should be able to know the scarf in a relatively short amount of time. To make this even easier, you can get large knitting needles and chunky yarn. A hand made scarf is just the thing for winter and you can even make a decorative scarf for people to wear even when the weather is not too chilly, this will make knitting go even faster.
Many websites online teach basic name stitches. Great place to get started is the website called learntoknit.com. It is funny, there is a huge knitting community in the internet, you would not think but there is largely female admitted but they love downloading stitching patterns and sharing information with the internet and a great gateway. I can tell you one of our most favored, well it is possession now but gifts from our wedding is a blanket that was knitted Liz Wally and it is warm, it is wonderful, we love it still to this day. It is one of our favorite blanket and it was home made.
