Hi, this is Jane at A Floral, and today we going to be making a bow out of a number 40, satin acetate ribbon. I have chosen bright pink, it is actually called Better Times and I am going to be walking you through a bow here, quickly. First thing I do is kind of get pretty much a long length of ribbon off the school, just kind of easier to work with. And, you want to determine how long you want the tails of your bow to be. I always plan them little longer, because they always come off and anything down there. So, I am going to have a nice long tail here.
I am going to start with as loop that is crossing over the top of my long length of ribbon and I am going to take another loop and cross that over the top. So, I am kind of having an X going on here. and you scrunch that together, as tight as you can, kind of a little gathering in there, that is going to give some nice body to your loops. And, I am going to continue this, by flipping the satin over at one side, so I got the dull side down and it is going to come over with the shinny side up for my next loop. It is the same size as the first loop, on that side. I am just going to tip it upside down again, twisting that, with the dull side and now my shinning side is up. I am holding these all in the center with my thumb and my fingers. I got two loops here, of about the same size. I am gradually going to make these loops a little smaller. I bring this to the center. Give it a twist, so my shinny side, right side of the ribbon is up. I have got three loops on either side, getting a little bit smaller here, with my loop. And, I have one more on either side again, coming into the center, flipping it over, holding it nice and tight, same on the other side. My loops are getting a little bit shorter.
Still holding that nice and tight, make one more set of loops and that is going to give me, one, two, three, four, five loops on either side. I got my shinny side up and on the center, now we are going to make this a tiny little knot, just like this a tiny smaller loops, it is going right over the top of my thumb there. Let us cut and finish it off, cut the streamer off of the shudders, and then secure all this. I am using a cloth covered wire. We have this here at A Floral, comes in a package, a little bit dozen steams. The cloth covering on this wire really helps the bows, you do not get the slippage and together with the regular wire.
So, we will now switch back through, where my thumb and fingers are holding the bow together, bring it around to the back, twist it up, as tight as you can. And then, you just kind of lock those bows out. Separate them up to look best. And, you got a nice springy bow. It can go on a wreath or in an arrangement. This is one of our high grandiose wreaths here, at A Floral. This is the cloth covered wire, strap it right on to the wreath, you are all set for spring.
