Hi, I am Sandy with Afloral and today we are going to talk about some of the supplies you can use to make a center piece. Afloral has the patrician candles and you want when you make a center piece to find a candle that smokeless dripless and these are in that is very important.
Do not buy those cheap 25cent candles or you are going to have a mess. We also have the round design ball, very inexpensive and if you are not going to see it. Why waste money on a expensive dish.
This is what we call the Handy Andy. This is a candle holder. Take the candle, put it in, and pushed down and then, you can stick this right into your foam, works very nicely.
And the last supply that we are going to use a lot of today is the steel pick machine. If you do not have one of this, get one quick. It has metals steel picks. I guess if there is steel there metal and scribe right into the machine and there is a weight that goes on top, and then you can use this to make your stems longer or make the ends sharper so that they can stick into the foam nice and easy.
So, we got our ball and we have got our candle and now, will make a round center piece to go around this. What I am going to do is use the steel pick machine by putting the flower in and clamping it down.
(Demo)
And that puts the steel pick onto the flower. See how nicely that gets into the foam.
(Demo)
And if you use threes, we always use three when we are designing. Other times you can wire and tape but this is all expensive and takes time. If you have a lot to do and you do not have time to wire and tape everything. then get yourself one of these nice pick machines.
So, we put three gardenias in and below each of the first three that we put in. I have three more, so we have 6 gardenias.
(Demo)
Now, I put some picks on the end of my roses and we are going to put 9 roses into the center piece.
(Demo)
Two in between each of the low gardenias and one in between each of the three center placed gardenias.
(Demo)
Oh, this pick machine is such a great invention. I wonder what we did before we have them. A lot of way we going to take it I think.
(Demo)
See how nice, just a nice pick at the end of there. look how beautiful the center piece is already and you will see now, that with this candle. You do not want to have any wax dripping on to your soak center piece. So, make sure you get those patrician candles that are smokeless and dripless
Now, we are going to fill in with the stephanotis.
(Demo)
In between each of the flowers that we have already put in. Three up near the top and six near the bottom
(Demo)
It is not that filling in beautifully.
(Demo)
And the last thing that I am going to put in is the leftover greenery that was on the stems of flowers. As you know, when you buy the flower, you pay the greenery.
(Demo)
So, we have some leaves from the stephanotis,
(Demo)
We have some leaves from the gardenias,
(Demo)
We have a few little buds here from our gardenia.
(Demo)
I like to place those near a gardenia,
(Demo)
So, it looks real, like a new gardenia is going to bloom right underneath the older open one.
(Demo)
So, we just turn it around and add all of these leaves in to finish off our center piece.
(Demo)
So, to recap quickly a candle, smokeless dripless; a Handy Andy, put into your dry flower foam which is in your inexpensive design ball that you cannot see; and then use of the steel pick machine to put stems on the ends of all your flowers and have a great time.
