Hi, I am Sandy with Afloral and today we are going to make a hand-tied bouquet for a bride or a bridesmaid using calla lilies. I have 12 of them in this vase and we are going to start our bouquet using two for the center. If you would like as we go along, we will use some of the floral stem wrap tape and tape the pieces together so that they stay in place.
Once you have your center ones, then we are going to start with some other calla lilies and build around the center to calla lilies. Each step of the way, we are going to tape so that things stay where you want them to go. Sometimes when you are trying to hang on to too many things, they start to slide around a little bit.
You can see, we are just adding calla lilies right around the first initial two that we had. And again, a little tape to hold everything in place. Remember to stretch your tape and just twist. More calla lilies around in the circle, you can use as many or as few as you want, I have chosen 12. And, there are 12 calla lilies in the bouquet. And again, I am going to just wrap some tape right around the same location, I have taped over the tape each time.
Calla lilies do not really need any foliage because they are so beautiful as they are but sometimes we need to add another color or we like to carry out a theme, so I have chosen some ivy and we will put just a little ivy underneath the calla lilies and tape that down, so the four pieces of ivy. And now, all we have to do is cover up the tape where we have been holding everything together. And what I have chosen to do this with is some lovely soft pink satin ribbon. You could choose any color if you want to color to match a girl’s gown, you can do that, and wrap it around where you have taped and this gives a nice soft ribbon for the girls to hang on to as well. And once you have it wrapped all the way around, I am going to use some boutonnière pins with a pearl head to secure it and also to add a little decoration. Is it not that beautiful? And, that gives you something nice to hang on to as well. Would you not love to carry this bouquet? I know I would.
